Ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil or pen, I have been writing – that’s a long time! I started by writing letters to penpals, relatives and friends and keeping a daily journal. Then, I graduated to writing for my junior high school year book as a co-editor and then working as a writer for my college newspaper – Emerson’s Berkley Beacon.
When I got my first job out of college, it was working as a news reporter for a radio station in Newport, Rhode Island. I worked for many different radio stations over the next ten years as a news writer, news broadcaster, radio producer, editor, and news direction. During that time, I won the UPI Tom Phillips Award – so I am actually an AWARD-WINNING JOURNALIST.
After leaving radio, I continued working as a news writer for print publications and acquired quite a variety of experience with the media. Being published provides a writer with “credentials.” I have been published over 1,000 times in my career as a writer which encompasses 40 years. I know how to pitch a story to the media, how to write a press release in the correct format to get it picked up, how to write blogs that appeal to readers (and not just with SEO/Ai language), and how to write on deadline and keep it in the format that a publication has requested.
This has been essential for many of my clients who had a good idea but did not have the creativity or ability to write professionally or to express their experience in a way that resonated with their audience. So if you need something written, and you know that you are not capable of doing it yourself, please call me. My rates are not too expensive and I will collaborate with you to get you a finished article, blog, book, memoir, speech, letter for submission – whatever it is you need!
