los angeles Real Estate Attorney Linda S. Koffman named to
the recorder’s List of “2012 Women Leaders in Law”
Los Angeles (October 25, 2012) -- California real estate transactional attorney Linda S. Koffman, of the Los Angeles law firm Gipson, Hoffman & Pancione, LLP, has been named to The Recorder’s list of “2012 Women Leaders in Law,” an eminent list of forty California attorneys who have achieved success through their creative networking efforts. At an awards ceremony at San Francisco’s The Commonwealth Club on November 2, 2012, Ms. Koffman will be honored along with the other awardees. On October 29, 2012, she will be featured in The Recorder's “Networking Champions” edition.
Linda Koffman has had a number of notable achievements as a real estate transactional attorney over her 20-plus year career. Most recently, she closed the largest sale in Los Angeles County in 2011: a portfolio sale of five, creative office/retail buildings in Santa Monica valued at $90 million. Her role as lead attorney in this transaction led to a front page article in the June 27, 2012 Daily Journal, entitled “Portfolio Purchases on the Rise” and in 2012, she was named to Daily Journal’s List of "California’s Top 30 Real Estate Attorneys."
Ms. Koffman was nominated for The Recorder’s ‘2012 Women Leaders in Law’ list by her firm’s principal, Robert E. Gibson, who stated, "All of us have experienced a situation where we needed to know someone with specialized knowledge, or the right experience to guide us, or the ability to open the right doors. Some of us have been lucky enough to know the person who could help. For many, that person is Linda Koffman. Linda has found the secret to effectively helping others is to really listen to them, then she draws on her thousands of contacts to suggest a person or two who might be helpful in this particular circumstance.”
In conjunction with operating her national legal practice, Ms. Koffman hosts her own quarterly, invitation-only roundtables where top real estate professionals meet to discuss their needs and source opportunities. Additionally, Linda serves as a Visiting Instructor at UCLA teaching an undergraduate honors seminar in real estate law. A prolific networker, she serves on numerous boards throughout the years including the California State Bar, Los Angeles County Bar and the Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation.
Linda says she is proud to be nominated by her firm as a Champion of Networking and flattered to be on The Recorder’s list. “Being in the company of such a powerhouse group of women is a great honor. Each one of these attorneys has achieved success by their efforts to help others and in building effective relationships that create opportunities for their organizations and for others.”
Ms. Koffman has led a storied life in her career and personal life. She has visited all seven continents of the world, including Antarctica and enjoyed a Holiday Party at the White House. Her best advice to others who would like to be successful is simple and to the point: ‘If you want help in building your business career, then help others to success in building theirs.’
“By being extremely vested in a number of professional, community and philanthropic activities, I have been able to interact with people in a variety of settings and personalize those relationships,” said Linda. “I get an enormous rush from helping someone reach their potential. I’m constantly raising the bar. I’m never satisfied with what I did or who I was last year – I’m constantly trying to grow and improve.”
Ms. Koffman’s national practice concentrates on property acquisition, disposition, construction, leasing and joint ventures of office buildings, industrial parks, multi-family residential projects and shopping centers as well as secured financing and the restructuring, workout and foreclosure of troubled real estate projects. Ms. Koffman’s practice also focuses on technology-related leasing. She has negotiated over 400 transactions representing telecommunications companies, such as XM Satellite Radio (now Sirius), and commercial landlords in connection with communications site licensing, leasing and co-location agreements.
